roI look at her everyday. I have a crush on her, but she likes the cutest guy in school. I don't stand a chance.Once, I caught her staring at him. i looked away - as if I'm not hurt enough.
One day, I saw her crying in a dark place by the stairs. Not many people were around, so I decided to talk to her. I walked to her slowly, gulping. But soon, I was in front of her.
"Hey," I said, without confidence.
She looked up. Her eyes were red, and I can see her beautiful eyes. She wiped her wet face with her shirt, and it showed a bit of her skin, so I turned a bit, blushing slightly.
"Hey," she replied. I looked back at her. She gave me some space on the floor to sit.
I sat next to her, blushing a bit more. But I try to be cool. I unbuttoned my first button as if it was hot, but actually I looked quite nerdy with it on. She didn't say anything. Instead, she sniffed a lot. Soon, she spoke.
"You're in my biology class," she said. I didn't do anything. "Rick, right?" I didn't know she knows my name.
"Yeah," I replied, trying to sound less nervous. "And you're Brandi." She smile. She wiped off some excess tears using her sleeve.
"Why are you here?" she asked.
"Because you're crying."
There was silence.
"Why were you crying?" She looked at me.
"You don't wanna know." I turned to her. She chuckled a bit, choked a little from the tears. "But I want you to know, of course."
She said she told the guy she like she likes him. He immediately said no because he likes someone else. He apologized and said she understood, but it still hurt.
"I understand," I said.
"I mean, who would like someone like me? I'm so ugly." I immediately looked up. "What?"
"I like you," I told her. Her eyes widen in disbelief. It was still teary, and it started to drip again. We stared at each other. I didn't do anything. I just stared back. I was waiting for something to happen, but she doesn't know herself what's going to happen.
Finally she spoke.
"But, why?"
"I looked away. "I don't know," I admitted. "I guess because of your eyes." I'm bright red now.
She smiled. "What about 'em?"
I didn't want to look at her. I turned even more. "They're pretty."
"Huh?"
"They're really beautiful, but nobody really notices. But my eyesight's 20-20." I hope I didn't sound like showing off.
That's really sweet," she said. I looked back at her. She's smiling now. She looks so pretty. Her eyes aren't red anymore, and I could tell she's healed. "Thanks."
"But do you like me?" I said immediately. I knew that sounded silly.
She laughed. I knew it. I looked away. "Of course I like you," she said. My eyes widen with hope.
"But I'm a game geek," I said.
"Never mind," she said. "As long as you have a Gameboy I can borrow."
